Orange Wendnesday

As part of my assessment I have created this blog in which I have evaluated a web site (http://www.orange.co.uk/?linkfrom=hp4&link=header_logo). Orange recognises in running a successful and profitable business. Orange is a large company that tries to set and stick to increasingly high responsibility standards. Orange brand values are to be friendly, dynamic, straightforward, refreshing and honest. This web site is suitable for people who are currently on the network, businesses using the network and those who are looking to join orange.

This site contains articles archives, newsletters and much more such as links to other websites i.e. sky news, Ebay, Twitter etc. I think there are many advantages and disadvantages to this website. After analysing this website some of the strengths of this website are the web site is well formatted and is very easy to navigate your self round the web pages. The website is suitable for all age groups. I really enjoyed browsing around this website because the website is very bright and exciting to look as it has pictures, colour and animations. I think this is a brilliant aspect to the web site!

However there are also disadvantages to this website too. The text size may be a little small for some users. The text is also not adjustable for a comfortable screen reading. Many other web sites allow you u increase and decrease the size of the font however this site fails to do so.

On this web site I carried out two tasks. One task I carried out was by ordering free sim cards to my house. This was very easy to do, I only had to entre my address and name and date of birth. The sim cards were delivered the next day!

The next task I carried out on this web site after I got my sim card I went to cinemas’ and used the orange Wednesdays offer. I did this by going on the web site and searching for a movie that I wanted to watch and in which town. This was very simple to do. This was another successful task. for this i have inserted a commerical which i found rather funny on top of my page called Orange Wednesdays.. Check it out!

Many students are asking what is micro-blogging and how it can help learners? Micro-blogging is a type of website which allows people to share on-line status updates where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies.

I tend to find people who are doing similar things as me, for example reading the same books. We can share ideas and tools which keep us informed on things that may be useful. The best bit is that you can often ask question and get it answered! These can be done such sites like twitter and jaiku. Twitter is a good way to share and discover what is happening right now.
